Meet the Creators

Frances Fishman

The founder of The Play Base Frances Fishman, is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with her M.Ed. in Developmental Psychology and Education. She has been working in the field for over 12 years and received training by and worked alongside some of the most respected individuals in the field in Canada. With a deep passion to help others, Frances set out to create a company and organization that would provide the highest quality therapy possible for children in need of behavioural, developmental and academic supports. Specializing in a play based, naturalistic and child-centered approach, Frances has brought together a group of professionals who provide a dynamic therapy for any child and family in need.

Sara Schacter

Sara Schacter is a Case Supervisor and Behavior Therapist at The Play Base. Sara has been working at The Play Base since 2015. Sara has also worked at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in their early intervention program. Sara received her Bachelor of Arts from Western University in Childhood and Social Institutions, Sara also has her early childhood education diploma and her special education resource consulting diploma. Sara is currently completing her Masters of Science in Applied Behaviour Analysis at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Sara provides an individualized and goal-oriented approach when supporting children and their families. Her caring and accessible nature helps her to form a quick connection with the families, schools and children she works with.  

Nicole West

Nicole West is a instructor therapist at The Play Base and has been working as an early childhood educator for over 14 years. Prior to working at The Play Base Nicole worked at Hillcrest Progressive school teaching children ages 3-5. Nicole provides an individualized approach and teaches her clients concepts and skills by breaking them down into incremental and attainable steps. Nicole has a passion for dance and movement which she brings this into her practice and sessions with clients.
